研究概要

ラプラス作用素の固有値評価について、固有値の上界を評価する理論と計算手法はこれまでの研究において確立されている。しかし、固有値の下界の評価は非常に困難な問題として残されていた。本研究はHypercircle equationを利用することで、一般的な多角形領域における固有値の厳密な下界を評価する手法であり、世界で初めて確立した。また、当研究を非線形楕円型偏微分方程式の解の検証に応用することで、従来は困難であった一般的な領域における非線形問題の解の検証も可能となった。
