Research Abstract |
The variety of the cytoprotective effects of flavonoids is assumed to inhibit common molecular mechanisms. In this study, I investigated the functional and structural changes ofthe cell membrane by quercetin, one of the flavonoids, to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of inhibitory effect of flavonoids. I showed the possibilities that quercetin translocated PLD to plasma membrane and induced the expression of HO-1 which is the key molecule to exhibit cytoprotective effects.
