This study, using in-depth interviews and participant observations of a total of 30 Chinese immigrant families, investigates how transnational migration shapes gender practices in migrant families in two countries with decreasing fertility rate and increasing immigration - Sweden and Singapore.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
調査研究は,シンガポールとスウェーデンの中国人移民家族におけるジェンダーダイナミクスを調べ,これら移民の育児,婚姻関係および雇用に影響する社会経済的および文化的要因と国家政策を同定し,ジェンダー不平等が再現される過程を明らかにすることを目的とする。
しかし、研究代表者の海外勤務のため、プロジェクトは実施初年度に終了しなければならなかった。さらに、パンデミックの最中に各国が封鎖されたため、プロジェクトは大きく妨げられた。そのため、現地調査を計画通りに行うのではなく、文献調査を行った。
スウェーデンとヨーロッパの中国人移民の家族について文献調査を行った。フィールドワークをできず、情報提供者を特定してインタビューを行うことは困難だった。最終的にストックホルムに住む中国人移民の母親一人にインタビューできた。転写を分析して、スウェーデンに住む中国人移民の主な懸念とニーズを特定した。文献調査とインタビューデータがプロジェクトの基礎を築くのに役立った。研究代表者は、別の資金を求めることによって、プロジェクトを継続します。
