金森修は、コンディヤックの『動物論』を分析する過程で、人間と動物との関係を巡る認識的議論にその調査対象が拡大した。その過程で、金森はフランスの重要な科学史家ジョルジュ・カンギレムの仕事に注目するようになった。そして結果としては、コンディヤックの『動物論』自体の分析は、擬人主義論の中ででてくることはでてくるが、副次的なものになり、より射程の広い擬人主義論、そしてカンギレム自体のさまざまな業績を扱った四つの論文、計5篇の論文の形で、その成果をまとめることができた。まず「擬人主義論」では、心理学が擬人主義を放擲かくするに及んで、もともとの研究プログラムを喪失していく過程の分析、比較心理学や動物行動学に伏在する擬人主義の剔抉などを中心に扱った。次の「主体性の環境理論」では、一八世紀から一九世紀初頭にかけて、環境という概念がどのようにその意味あいを変えていくかを巡る史的な分析を行い、それが一九世紀から二○世紀にかけて、主体を環境によって規定された受動的なものとしてではなく、それなりに環境を構成する能動的なものとして把握するという思潮がどのようにでてきたのか、またその考え方の環境倫理学的な意味あいについて分析した。次の「生命と機械」論では、古来からの生物機械論と生気論とが、現代的なバイオメカニックスや人間工学においては、対立ではなく、融合を起こしていること、そのため、人間がどこまで機械として説明できるのか、という問い自身がもはや成立しえないことを論証した。次の「生命論的技術論」では、技術的制作一般を巡る主知主義的な把握を破壊し、技術制作と創造者との間の相即的で相互誘発的な関係を分析した。 次の「美的創造理論」では、アランの美学をカンギレムが分析している文章を精密に分析する過程で、創造行為一般における創発性、規範の存在の重要性などを分析した。
杉山滋郎は、平成2年度から4年度に収集した文献資料をもとに、当初の研究目的にそって考察を進めてきた。その結果、「生命観」の概念規定を明確にすることに努めつつ、わが国における「生命観」の時代的変化ならびにその特質について、概念が把握されつつある。現在のところまだ具体的な論考には結晶していないが、必要な資料をさらに収集して、今後しばらく検討を続けたうえで、すみやかに成果を公表する予定である。
At the beginning of this research, Kanamori intended to analyze exclusively "the Treatise on animals" of Condillac, but, on the course of research, Kanamori realised that this subject include many important items to be approfounded. Especially the works of french epistemologist G.Canguilhem gave many inspirations to continue this research. As the results, Kanamori wrote five articles as the following.
1: an article about an anthropomorphism, which analyses a paradox of the psychology and the reminiscence of anthropomorphic images in many studies on ethology and comparative psychology.
2: an article about the theory of environment, especially about the constructive and subjective theory of environment, which refuses to conceive the man as a pure passive existence in a geographical or ecological environment.
3: an article which analyses the conception of Canguilhem about the machine and the relation of machine and the man. Canguilhem assert that one cannot understand a machine as a radically different thing from a man.
4: an article about the technique and the life.
5: an article about the esthetical theory of Alain, and the technical or technophilosophical implication of this theory. Sugiyama is preparing many documents about the japanese conceotions about the natural science in modern times. Sugiyama does'nt write any article, but he will write before long.
