Research Abstract

金属結晶に電子線を照射すると、電子の弾き飛ばし効果によって、原子配列が乱れアモルファス構造が形成される場合がある。一方、我々は、原子配列が周期性を有さないアモルファスあるいは金属ガラスに電子線を照射すると、結晶化が起こることを見出した。本研究では、Zr-Cu系、Zu-Cu-Ni系、Fe-Nd-B系、Zr-Pd系等の各種金属ガラスに電子線照射を行い、照射誘起結晶化の有無、形成される結晶構造、相安定性、ナノ組織制御について調べた。いずれの金属ガラスも電子線照射により結晶化が促進され、熱誘起結晶化では得られない、ナノ結晶が得られた。この電子線照射誘起結晶化を利用すれば、局所領域のナノコンポジット組織制御が可能である。熱処理下と電子線照射下では相安定性が異なる。例えば、Zr-Cu系金属ガラスでは、アモルファス相からfcc-Zr_2Cuが析出するが、電子線照射下ではbct-Zr_2Cuが形成され、相安定性がことなる。従って、熱処理で形成したfcc-Zr_2Cuに電子線を照射すると、Zr_2Cuは電子の弾き飛ばし効果により、結晶構造が乱れアモルファスとなる。更に、電子線照射を行うと、電子線照射誘起結晶化によりbct-Zr_2Cu相が析出する。また、熱処理で形勢されるZr-Pd系合金の準結晶について見ると、電子線照射によりアモルファスになった後、更に照射を続けると結晶相が形成される。このように、電子線照射下では通常の熱処理条件下とは相安定性が異なり、これを利用しての相構造ならびにナノ組織制御が可能となる。この電子線照射誘起結晶化は、照射量、照射温度、照射電圧に強く依存し、形成される結晶相の構造ならびに形態が変化した。kの相安定性を利用して、熱処理とは異なる新たな構造、形態のナノコンポジット組織制御が可能である。
