研究概要

インターロイキン-1・・(IL-1・)は代表的な炎症性サイトカインであり、滑膜細胞などの標的細胞上のIL-1受容体(IL-1R)に結合して炎症を引き起こす。我々は、IL-1・が細胞接着分子であるインテグリンに結合することを明らかにした。さらに、IL-1・に点突然変異を挿入したタンパクを数多く作成することにより、IL-1・のインテグリン結合部位はIL-1R結合部位とは異なることを示した。そして、IL-1・がIL-1Rに結合しなくても、IL-1R非依存的にMAPキナーゼ経路やNF-・B経路を活性化することを明らかにした。
