Through this research area, a new interdisciplinary collaborative research community has been established with the aim of understanding slow earthquakes, and various research results regarding slow earthquakes have been obtained. and Japan's international leadership in this research field has been strengthened by aggressive international activities such as annual international workshops, oversea self-invited workshops in some countries, construction of a slow earthquake database, and so on. As a result of our research, we have published a total of 468 original papers in international peer-reviewed journals (159 of which are international co-authored papers) in high-impact journals such as 7 papers from Science and 2 papers from Nature. The number of invited talks reached 75 times, and it was highly evaluated worldwide.
