Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research group aims to establish a novel concept and technology to figure out the dynamic function of neural circuits. To this end, we have supported the group activities by (1) HP managements (2) organization of annual group meetings (3) sharing research information within the group (4) financial supports for young researchers (5) organization of international meetings.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

若手の班内および班外との共同研究を積極的に支援したことにより、ボトムアップ的に新たな研究や概念が生まれたとともに、研究者のキャリアパスをサポートできたと考えている。また、国際的に著名な国際会議である「コールドスプリングハーバー研究所神経国際会議」を、はじめて日本に誘致することに成功したことは、非常に重要な成果であると考えている。著名な神経科学者を世界から招聘して淡路島夢舞台国際会議場において国際会議開催したことにより、本領域活動はもとより、日本の神経科学研究のレベルの高さを世界に知らしめ、またグローバルな人的ネットワークの構築に成功したと考えている。
