Research Abstract

平成20年度10月にスタートし平成24年度3月に終了した新学術研究領域「学際的研究による顔認知メカニズムの解明（略称「顔認知」）」の、最終年度の取りまとめを行った。５年間の研究成果を代表的班員８名（グループ）が英文論文にまとめ、Japanese Psychological Research誌（Wiley社発行）の２０１４年第１号に特集号として刊行された。「顔認知」に関して、英文論文の特集号が組まれたことは世界で初めての事であり、高い反響を呼んだ。２０１３年１月に東京大学出版会より発行した「顔を科学する：適応と障害の脳科学」は、初版４５００部をほぼ売り上げた。５０００円近い価格の学術本としては特記すべきものである。この本の内容に関して多くの問い合わせがあり、それに対応した。総括班会議を２度（名古屋と東京）開催し、５年間の研究及び領域活動の総括を行った。平成23年度から製作を開始している「ニホンザルの顔のデータベース」を完成させた。これは世界で初めての画期的なデータベースである。顔認知に関連した多くの学会発表と講演を支援し、本研究領域の成果をアピールした。研究代表者（柿木隆介）だけでも５回の講演（一般向けの講演３回を含む）を行った。平成２０年度から２５年度までの、多くの研究領域会議、各研究グループあるいはグループ間の会議、国際シンポジウム（参加者数：約１２０名で、海外からは３３名）、一般の方を対象とした講演会の資料を整理した。
