Outline of Research at the Start

「ポストリソソーム生物学:分解の場から始まる高次生命現象の理解」の創成に向け、総括班として領域方針の策定・企画・評価を行う。 特にA01中村班、A02西村班、A03藤田班、A04阿部班の4班間で行う領域内融合研究において大きな成果を上げられるような体制を整える。本領域の大きな特徴として、様々なモデル生物とバックグラウンドを持つ研究者によるチーム編成が挙げられる。そのため、総括班はお互いの研究をよく理解し、これらが円滑に推進され、最大限の成果が得られるようにプラットフォームとしての機能を積極的に果たす。また、研究成果の発信や領域外研究者との連携を促進することで、将来の分野拡大につなげる。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

In order to promote research on post-lysosome biology, the members of the project team worked in close collaboration with each other through the sharing of relevant information using slack and progress reports in web-based or face-to-face meetings once every three months. In addition, a total of three area meetings were held with advisors to obtain suggestions on the direction of research. Three jointly co-sponsored symposia were held at academic conferences to promote the activities of the field. Obtained results were published as peer-reviewed papers. Information on these activities was disseminated on the website (https://post-lysosome.jp/).

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

超高齢化社会に直面する先進諸国において健康寿命の延伸は喫緊の課題であり、ヒトにおいて老化の抑制を真に実現するには栄養因子などの環境的要因も含めた老化・寿命制御の確固たる分子メカニズムの理解が不可欠である。本領域活動を通して、この鍵を握ると考えられるポストリソソームシグナルの理解に一定の進展が見られた。今後得られた手がかりをもとに、様々なレベルのポストリソソームシグナルの作用機序解明を進めることで、将来的には健康寿命延伸の実現に向けた新たなシーズ創出につながる可能性がある。
