本学術変革領域は、細胞多様性の形成過程や意義の解明を目的とした異分野融合研究であり、個々の計画班でそれぞれの専門性と得意分野を活かした研究を推進すると同時に、総括班において各々の研究を組織化し、そのベクトルを一点に集約させることが重要となる。領域内での役割分担の明確化と連携の促進、多角的な研究分野の参画による融合研究の推進、本研究課題の将来的な拡大・発展のための基盤づくり、の3点に特に留意しつつ領域を運営し、研究の加速をはかる。
