Outline of Final Research Achievements

The main results are (i) to (iv) below. (i) Morita group obtained results such as proposing a background mechanism related to motivation by analyzing a model of reinforcement learning and cortico-basal ganblia-dopamine system assuming forgetting (decay). (ii) Kori group constructed several models of oscillator networks with hierarchical stucture and analyzed their functions. (iii) Fujisawa group revealed the important roles of theta oscillation on the information process during experiences of event sequences or social observations. (iv) Nagase group studied the choice based on time and mental effort without awareness.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

上記主な成果(i)～(iv)の意義は以下の通りである。(i)の成果は、モチベーションの、価値学習・価値に基づく意思決定の神経機構を踏まえた理解に貢献し得ると考える。(ii) の成果は、時差ボケなどの人間の運動・活動において、振動子ネットワークの階層的構造が果たす役割について理論的に洞察を与えた。(iii) の成果は、脳における記憶形成におけるネットワーク・オシレーションの役割の解明に大きく貢献するものである。(iv)の成果により、認知的負荷に基づく意思決定と時間との関係への理解が深まった。
