Outline of Final Research Achievements |
For rodents such as mice, we have developed a markerless system that can record 3D information on individual gait and other body parts and track multiple individual details, including ultrasonic vocalizations and social behaviors as phenotypes for detecting individuality. The system was also developed for primates, especially for macaque monkeys in their natural environment, and is the first system of its kind in the world. The system will be used by researchers in Japan and overseas to collect large-scale data. To discover various aspects of "individuality" from this large-scale data in cooperation between researchers and machines, data mining algorithms such as data self-organization (visualization) algorithms and clustering were developed.
