| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Focusing on cultural and individual differences in face and body expression, we investigated the mechanisms of cognitive strategies and dynamics related to prediction, memory, and preference of face-body cognition using a variety of empirical methods in terms of explicit and implicit processes. We obtained diverse results: A database of dynamic facial expressions, perceptual templates of facial impressions, the implicit influence of others on body movement, empirical research data on face-body cognition related to social adaptation, and the physiological and neural mechanisms of face-body processes. These results have contributed to the new research foundation of the face-body processes in "transcultural" situations.
