Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The objective of this project research is to develop advanced data analysis methods for gravitational waves from BH binary mergers in order to test gravitational theories, and to advance our understanding of BH spacetime and BH binary evolution. In relation to a number of binary black hole merger events detected by gravitational waves, new tests of gravity theory were proposed and the results of the analysis were presented. In addition, a comparative study of various analytical methods for the intrinsic oscillations of black holes was carried out. In collaboration with the project research C01, an analytical method using the Hilbert-Huang transform was proposed for gravitational waves from gravitational collapse at supernova explosions. Results on background gravitational wave searches in the mHz band were also made, with a view to a future space gravitational wave detector network.
