Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, we studied knot theory and three-dimensional topology, a field of geometry in mathematics, and applied the results to the design of polymers and other materials. We have obtained results on the application of graph theory and knot theory to the study of multicyclic polymers, the application of three-dimensional topology to the design of block copolymer materials, and the design of entangled supramolecular structures using knot theory. In addition, an international conference was held to promote interaction between researchers in topology and polymers and materials science.
