Research Abstract |
We determined the crystal structure of Pasteurella multocida toxin, a member of the dermonecrosis-inducing toxin, from which an enzyme activity of the toxin was predicted. In addition, by analyzing the domain-structure organization, we found that C1 domain of the toxin was involved in its localization to the plasma membrane. Rat monoclonal antibodies against a product of the enzymic action of the toxin were also developed. These antibodies were considered useful for detection of the toxin action both in vitro and in situ.
