Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Our goal is to establish a new academic field and the foundational scientific principles for constructing a "Molecular Engine". These molecules are devices that undergo mechanical structural changes upon receiving external energy, and exploit these changes to convert it into a different form of energy. Our research team has successfully revealed the physicochemical properties and structural information of various molecular engines, including rotational, linear, light-driven, and signal transmission types. Moreover, we have established a physicochemical evaluation and structural basis for the rational design and theoretical calculations of these molecular engines, thus contributing to the development of the "Molecular Engine" field.
