Outline of Final Research Achievements |
(1) High-strength Mg alloys with deformation-kinks introduced in the mille-feuille structure region where cluster-arranged layers (CALs) are densely precipitated were developed by applying the slow-cooling-rate solidification and extrusion process. (2) The work-strengthening component, texture-strengthening component, and kink-strengthening component were separately evaluated in the rapidly solidified Mg-Zn-Y dilute alloys. (3) The mechanism of CAL formation/annihilation was elucidated by small-angle/high-angle/ultra-small-angle X-ray scattering measurements.
