Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Through joint research with the Ueda team, we published a paper on the control of the number of mitochondria associated with spermatogenesis in liverworts (Norizuki et al. 2022, Cell Reports). In addition, regarding Monophyllea, we investigated which of the two cotyledons aquires the indeterminacy and found auxin and cytokinin is the key (Kinoshita and Tsukaya 2022). Furthermore, analysis of the meristematic region, cell division angle, and mathematical modeling revealed that the position of the meristematic region in the primordium is the determining factor for why petals and leaves have different shapes even though they are homologous organs in Arabidopsis. (Kinoshita et al. 2022).
