Outline of Research at the Start

スマートフォンアシスタントやスマートスピーカによる音声対話システムの実用化が進んでいるが，ほとんどが一問一答にとどまっており，ユーザの意図に沿った対話を長く継続することは容易でない．本研究では，複数モダリティによる傾聴と複数ロボットによる対話のアプローチを組み合わせて，高度な対話感を実現し，対話継続と人間関係構築支援を可能にする知能対話システムの研究開発に取り組む．特に高齢者とのコミュニケーションを想定して，対話を継続させるためのメカニズムの解明と実現を目指す．また従来，対話相手は通常一人に限定されていたが，本研究では複数人も想定した対話モデル・システムの実現を目指す．

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、特に高齢者や精神障害者とのコミュニケーションを想定して、対話を継続するためのメカニズムの解明と実現を目指して行っている。その中で、公募班の熊崎教授らと共同で、精神科（主に統合失調症）のデイケア利用者を対象として、ロボットを用いた対話実験を継続的に実施してきた。
河原（京都大）らは、傾聴ロボットによる対話の前後で気分と覚醒度を調査し、対話後には「初対面の人」「友人」と比較したときの話しやすさ等の主観評価を行った。それらとユーザ発話及びロボットの応答との関係を調べた。その結果、ロボットが頻繁に相槌や応答を返した被験者の方が話しやすいと感じていることがわかった。また、評価応答などが活発に出る対話が気分の改善に影響することが示唆された。
また吉川（大阪大）らは、高齢者と日常的に対話できるチャットボット型エージェントを開発し、高齢者と孫のペア54組108名に１０日間対話してもらう実証実験を行った。その結果、本エージェントが高齢者の孫の情報を共有することで、高齢者の対話意欲の減退を留められることと、高齢者-孫の関係性を深められることが示唆された。さらに、本エージェントとの対話は、高齢者および孫の不安感を改善できることも示唆された。
また、2022年6月18日には日本精神神経学会において、「ヒューマノイドロボットがもたらす精神科医療の未来」というシンポジウムを企画し、河原、吉川らがこれまでの研究成果をふまえて、講演と討論を行った。
