Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、主に生体構造の再構成の観点から広汎な脱抑制による脳の超適応機構をモデル化することに取り組む。脳のような大規模・複雑なネットワークシステムの適応過程を明らかにするには、現象を必要最小限の自由度でモデル化し、計算機シミュレーションによりモデルの挙動を検証する構成論的研究手法が有用であり、これにより生理学的理解を深化することが期待される。具体的には、脳活動・筋活動・行動などの長期マルチモーダルデータの統計的モデル化とその解釈性の確保、生理学的知見をもとに構成する脳内ネットワークのグレイボックスモデルと加齢シミュレーション、人を対象とした協調運動学習実験によるモデルの妥当性検証に取り組む。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

研究代表者の近藤は、テンソル分解による脳活動の基底抽出（低次元化）と動的グラフ構造推定による時間基底間の相関解析を経時的に行う手法を改善し，睡眠時脳波に適用して有効性を検証した。また、弱疎結合な多変量力学系を基にした構成論的モデルを用いた新たな脳波解析手法を提案した。研究成果は1件の国際学術誌[Nakayashiki 2021]、2件の国際会議[Nguyen 2021][Nakayashiki 2021]にて発表した。
研究分担者の千葉は、立位から歩行への遷移に出現する高齢者の特徴に着目し，仮説検証のための計算機モデルを構築した。これにより歩行開始動作の推定が可能となった。本年度も、COVID-19の影響で高齢者を対象とした被験者実験の実施が予定通りに進められなかったが、神経ネットワークモデルと筋骨格モデルを組合せたグレイボックスモデリングによる姿勢維持シミュレーションを実施した。研究成果は1件の国際会議[Etoh 2021]にて発表した。
研究代表者の近藤は、環境変化への適応力を高める運動課題を探索するため、VRと力覚提示ロボット技術を組合せた運動学習実験を行い、ロボットによる運動支援アルゴリズムと学習者の運動学習成績、適応性（学習結果の汎化能力）について実験的に調べた。その結果、学習者の習熟度に応じて支援の正確さを高めるアルゴリズムの有効性を明らかにした。研究成果は3件の国際学術誌[Nishimura 2021][Saracbasi 2021][Sakabe 2021]、1件の解説論文[近藤 2022]にて発表した。

新型コロナウイルス感染症の感染拡大の影響により、高齢者をリクルートする必要がある実験の実施に制限があり、遅延が生じている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

ネットワーク構造推定に関する研究項目では、データの統計的性質からの構造推定手法について見通しが立ったことから、逆に構成論的な手法によるモデル化手法を検討する。具体的には、HRニューロンモデル等で表現される力学系の弱結合系（Small-world 結合）が、Collective Almost Synchronization (CAS)と呼ばれるカオス力学系になることを用いて、CAS モデルの出力波形を基底関数として脳波データを線形近似するモデル化手法を提案する。認知課題下の姿勢制御に関する神経・筋骨格シミュレーションに関する研究項目では、「歩き出し」に着目した神経ネットワークモデルの精緻化と、高齢者を用いた被験者実験を行う。特に高齢者実験においては、筋活動に加えて脳血流も同時計測することにより、筋緊張に影響する脳内ネットワークを調査する。適応性を高める運動学習課題に関する研究項目では、人間ー人間の協調運動学習系を構築し、前年度までに明らかにした人間ーロボット系の特性との類似性・相違性を調査することにより運動学習支援アルゴリズムのさらなる改良を試みる。
