Outline of Final Research Achievements |
[1] Thermoelectric conversion materials that convert wasted waste heat into electricity are attracting attention. However, the tellurides- and selenides-based thermoelectric materials discovered so far are thermally and chemically unstable and toxic. In this study, we discovered an excellent oxide thermoelectric material Ba1/3CoO2, which is stable even in air at 600℃ and exhibits properties comparable to tellurides-based thermoelectric materials. [2] Thermal transistors that control heat flow using electrical switches is attracting attention, but the thermal transistors announced so far is composed of liquid, making them unsuitable for practical use. In this study, we have realized the world's first all-solid-state electrochemical thermal transistor.
