Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では紫外から中赤外の過渡吸収をフェムト秒から秒の領域で測定できる独自の分光システムを利用してドナー・アクセプター(D・A)相互作用系における光キャリアの動きを解析することを目的としている。実験はまず構造が比較的単純なD・Aモデル分子を用い、次に複雑なD・Aデバイスにおける光励起ダイナミクスを解析する。さらに他の測定結果や理論計算と比較検証しながら統合解析を行う。このような研究を通じて核や格子の運動に連動したD・A相互作用系における動的エキシトンの学理を構築しデバイス性能向上に有用な知見として領域内にフィードバックする。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

我々は、昨年までに時間分解赤外分光計測を行うと、非フラーレン型アクセプター(NFA)分子における伝導帯電子と束縛電子を区別することが可能であり、さらに、NFA分子の末端に電子受容部として付与されたC≡N基の伸縮振動数の時間変化を観察することで、分子内・分子間電荷分離過程を詳しく解析可能であることを報告してきた。本年度は、大阪大学の家教授らが開発した五員環縮環とスピロフルオレンを組み合わせたIDTTSTF-DCI (NFA-T)とフルオレンの代わりにビチオフェンを用いたIDTTSF-DCI (NFA-F)を用いて、NFA薄膜中における電荷分離過程を明らかにした。
まず比較対象としてITIC単体薄膜に685 nmのポンプ光を照射してC≡N伸縮振動の赤外過渡吸収スペクトルを測定した結果、光照射前に2224 cm-1観測されたC≡N伸縮振動が、ポンプ光照射によって2204と2180 cm-1にシフトすることを見いだした。DFT計算の結果、これらの吸収はそれぞれ分子内電荷分離を引き起こすS1状態と分子間電荷分離によって生成したアニオン状態に帰属されることが分かった。つまり、ITIC単体薄膜でも電子と正孔が分離することが分かった。次に、NFA-Fにポンプ光を照射したところ、ITICの場合と同様に、光照射1 ps 以内にC≡N伸縮振動が2224 cm-1から2204 cm-1にシフトするが、その後、約60 psかけて2190 cm-1にシフトすることが分かった。一方、NFA-Tの場合には、光照射1 ps以内に2180 cm-1までシフトする。この結果は、NFA-Tの方がNFA-Fよりも分子間電荷分離が起きやすいことを示唆している。実際に、NFA-Tの方がNFA-Fよりも発電効率が高いことから、NFA単膜中での電荷分離効率がOPVの性能の違いを支配している可能性があることが分かった。

Reason

時間分解赤外分光計測によって分子内・分子間電荷分離過程を区別する手法は、ITIC以外の非フラーレン型アクセプター分子にも適用可能であることを明らかにした。本手法で得られる情報は、従来広く行われている可視から近赤外域の分光計測では得られない斬新なものであり、さらに高い性能を有するNFA分子の設計に役立つと期待している。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

本研究で用いたNFA-TとNFA-Fは、ITICと比べてアクセプター・ドナー・アクセプター骨格はITICと同じであり、側鎖の構造が異なるだけである。側鎖の構造が異なると、分子のスタック構造が変化することが期待され、このスタック構造の違いが分子間電荷分離の違いを支配していると考えている。今後、成膜条件や異分子を混合することでこのスタック構造を制御し、分子間電荷分離の効率がどのように変化するかを明らかにする予定である。
