Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では新機軸の有機半導体材料を開発することで、有機系の太陽電池における動的エキシトンの学理を構築する。具体的には、本研究では動的エキシトンを利用した光活性層の構築に向けて、フッ素原子を導入した狭バンドギャップ型ドナー、非フラーレン型アクセプターを系統的に創出し、有機太陽電池への応用を行う。また、増感色素へのフッ素原子導入により分子振動のエネルギーを調節することで、金属酸化物/増感色素/レドックス対界面での電子移動過程の精密制御に向けた色素増感太陽電池材料開発を行う。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では有機半導体材料を開発し、有機系の太陽電池における動的エキシトンの学理を構築することを目的としており、動的エキシトンの効果的利用による複雑系の有機太陽電池、色素増感太陽電池の高性能化が目標となる。本年度も引き続き動的エキシトンに基づいた有機太陽電池材料の開発を行った。具体的には、動的エキシトンを利用した光活性層の構築に向けて、新規な非フラーレン型アクセプターの開発を行った。平面性の高い縮環構造に、π‐πスタッキング相互作用を抑制するかさ高い置換基を導入した電子受容性π共役化合物が非フラーレン型アクセプターとして高い性能を示す。しかし、近年では、縮環構造をもたない非フラーレン型アクセプターが合成の容易さから注目され、高性能化に向けた指針確立が望まれている。研究代表者家はこれまでに、五員環縮環とスピロフルオレンを組み合わせた分子構造が、共役化合物の主鎖平面性と分子間相互作用の抑制に効果的であることを見出している。そこで、この分子構造に対して、共役末端に電子受容性ユニットを導入した新規非フラーレン型アクセプターを設計・合成し、アルキル置換チオフェンを導入した参照分子との基礎物性、太陽電池特性、薄膜物性の比較検討を通じてアクセプターとしての有効性を検討した。より詳細な薄膜状態の解析を行うため、本領域のA02班との共同研究を遂行した。色素増感太陽電池については、金属酸化物/増感色素/レドックス対界面での電子移動過程の精密制御を実現するため、動的エキシトンに基づいた増感色素・レドックス対の設計・合成を行った。具体的には、フラーレン骨格を導入した増感色素を用いることで、酸化ニッケル/増感色素間における電荷再結合を抑制でき、光電変換効率の向上を実現した。またレドックス対の配位子を適切に設計することにより、増感色素/レドックス対間での電子移動効率の向上を示唆する結果を得た。
