Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では新機軸の有機半導体材料を開発することで、有機系の太陽電池における動的エキシトンの学理を構築する。具体的には、本研究では動的エキシトンを利用した光活性層の構築に向けて、フッ素原子を導入した狭バンドギャップ型ドナー、非フラーレン型アクセプターを系統的に創出し、有機太陽電池への応用を行う。また、増感色素へのフッ素原子導入により分子振動のエネルギーを調節することで、金属酸化物/増感色素/レドックス対界面での電子移動過程の精密制御に向けた色素増感太陽電池材料開発を行う。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では動的エキシトンの効果的利用による複雑系の有機太陽電池、色素増感太陽電池の高性能化が目標となる。本年度も動的エキシトンを利用した発電層の構築に向けて、新規非フラーレン型アクセプターの開発を行った。平面性の高い縮環構造に、π‐πスタッキング相互作用を抑制するかさ高い置換基を導入した電子受容性π共役化合物が非フラーレン型アクセプターとして高い性能を示す。本年度は、この典型的構造として知られるITIC骨格を用いて、電子構造制御を付与させることを目的とした分子設計・開発を行った。研究代表者家はこれまでにスピロ置換を導入した分子構造が、共役化合物の分子間相互作用の抑制に効果的であることを見出している。そこで、このITIC構造に対して、スピロ置換フルオレン、ビチオフェンを導入した化合物開発を行なった。ビチオフェンを導入することで、分子のHOMO準位が主骨格からビチオフェンに移ることが理論計算から示唆されており、電子構造制御が可能となる。参照分子との基礎物性、太陽電池特性、薄膜物性の比較検討を通じてアクセプターとしての有効性を検討した。より詳細な薄膜状態の解析を行うため、本領域のA02班との共同研究を遂行した。色素増感太陽電池については、色素増感太陽電池については、金属酸化物/増感色素/レドックス対界面での電子移動過程の精密制御を実現するため、動的エキシトンに基づいた増感色素・レドックス対の設計・合成を行った。具体的には、増感色素にドナー骨格を導入することで、色素から酸化チタンへの電子注入によって生じた色素ラジカルカチオンが、ドナー骨格からの分子内電子移動によって還元され、ドナー骨格のラジカルカチオンを生じ、長寿命の電荷分離状態を実現した。これにより逆電子移動過程を抑制し、エネルギー変換効率が向上したことから、分子内電子移動を活用した逆電子移動過程抑制が可能であることを実証した。
