Outline of Research at the Start

地球外有機物の精密分析と再現実験により,太陽系形成時の初期化学状態を解明する.隕石,惑星間塵,「はやぶさ2」が持ち帰るC型小惑星リュウグウ試料中の有機物の総合分析をおこない,元素・同位体組成,分子構造などを決定する.これらの有機物は太陽系形成時につくられた後,原始太陽系円盤や小天体で変質し,現在の状態になっている.共存鉱物から,有機物が経験した変質過程を推定し,変質前の太陽系最初期有機物の化学状態を制約する.光化学反応有機物形成実験,および有機物やケイ酸塩の変質実験をおこない,太陽系最初期有機物ならびにその形成と変化を再現する条件を明らかにする.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

太陽系も他の惑星系と同様,分子雲の収縮による原始星の形成から始まり,原始惑星系円盤の中で多様な惑星が誕生した.本研究では,太陽系をつくった分子雲や惑星系形成領域の化学環境が,観測される分子雲や原始惑星系の化学的多様性とどのように関連するのかを明らかにすることを目的とする.リュウグウサンプル分析の成果について,国際誌に多数の論文発表をおこなった.これらの成果には,リュウグウ有機物中での核酸塩基ウラシルやビタミンB3であるニコチン酸の発見,分子雲での低温化学反応の結果としてつくられたと考えられる炭素同位体組成の特徴をもつ多環式芳香族炭化水素の発見,可溶性有機分子群にマグネシウム含有分子が見つからなかったことから水質変成が比較的低温であったこと,固体有機物内の原子結合状態から熱変成の程度が低かったこと,一方でリュウグウ試料中で鉱物と有機物が母天体での水質変成作用中に相互作用して,共進化したこと,現在のリュウグウ表面にも外側太陽系から窒素に富んだ微粒子が供給されていること,などが含まれる.2023年9月には NASA OSIRIS-REx 探査機が地球に届けた B型小惑星ベヌーからのサンプルの分析も開始し,H2O 量や炭素量,可溶性有機分子(生命前駆分子を含む)の分析を開始した.小惑星ベヌーサンプル分析成果に関して,2024年2月に国際シンポジウム Solar System symposium in Sapporo 2024 を開催し,世界に先駆けて,議論した.
