Outline of Research at the Start

原始ブラックホール(Primordial Black Hole:PBH) とは宇宙初期に形成されるブラックホールの総称である。本計画研究ではPBH に関するこれまでの理論的研究をより「深化」(精密化,精度向上)させると共に,標準的なPBH 形成過程を超えた幅広いモデルへの「拡張」を行い,過去,及び将来の観測による「検証」を提案し,徹底的にPBH のダークマターとしての可能性を精査する。また,PBHだけでなく,比較的コンパクトで巨視的な天体によるダークマターに関しても共通する点が多く,その可能性についても併せて検討する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

有意義な量の原始ブラックホールが生成される,単一場インフレーションモデルではインフラトンポテンシャルの形によって初期揺らぎの統計性が決まる.特に一点分布関数の高振幅のテール部分の振る舞いが原始ブラックホール量に大きく寄与するため,どのようなポテンシャルを伴うインフレーションダイナミクスがどのようなテール部分の形につながるかを理論的に調べておくことは,モデル提案において重要となる.本研究では区分的に2次関数で与えられるインフラトンポテンシャルについて,場の揺らぎの対数関数の和によって表される一般的な曲率揺らぎの表式を導出し,テール部分がよく知られている指数関数型になるための条件を明らかにした.
これまでの研究から輻射優勢期に形成される原始ブラックホールは観測的に重要になるほど大きなスピンを持てないことが明らかとなってきた.一方,初期宇宙において相転移やクロスオーバーなどで状態方程式が輻射流体に比べて実効的に柔らかくなった場合,どの程度のスピンを獲得しうるかについてはわかっていなかった.本研究では輻射優勢期の原始ブラックホールのスピンについての先行研究を参考に,より柔らかい状態方程式の場合について,解析的な見積もりを行った.質量とスピンの確率密度を見積もり,より柔らかい状態方程式に対してより大きなスピンが期待できることを確認した.
原始ブラックホールを生成する多くのインフレーションモデルでは初期揺らぎの非ガウス性が顕著になることが知られている.この初期揺らぎは同時に背景重力波の源ともなるため,背景重力波にその特徴が受け継がれる.本研究ではLIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaborationのO3データを用いて非ガウス性を持った原始密度揺らぎに対する観測的制限を与えた.

Reason

原始ブラックホール形成のモデル構築については,標準理論を越えた素粒子モデルを用いたモデルの提案などと同時に,インフレーション由来にシナリオについては,特定のモデルだけを提案する段階から,一般的な性質を抽出し,クラス分けする状況に進展しており,おおむね順調と言える.また,形成過程におけるスピンの解析的な見積もりなども進んでおり,並行して進んでいる数値計算との比較が想定され,こちらもおおむね順調である.数値シミュレーションについては非球対称原始ブラックホール形成におけるスピンの見積もりを得るまでに進展しており,今後状態方程式や背景となる形成モデルを一般化するなど,モデル構築との融合的研究が期待される.観測的側面では重力波観測を用いる研究が精力的に進められている.特に,有意な原始ブラックホール形成が期待できる初期宇宙モデルについて,重力波観測を用いた観測的検証の有効性に注目した研究が進んでおり,全体としておおむね順調に進展している.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

引き続き各方面において精力的に研究を進めるとともに,これまでに得られた結果を総合的にまとめ上げ,ダークマターとしての原始ブラックホールの可能性を各側面から徹底的にあらいなおす作業が必要となる.
まずはこれまでに提案された原始ブラックホール形成モデルを分類し,それぞれについての観測的に現れる特徴をまとめる.数値計算を用いた見積もりや開発したより正確な原始ブラックホール統計の手法を適用し,観測量に対する予言を適切に行う.数値計算の結果を用いた解析については,原始ブラックホールのスピンの統計性に注目した観測的検証方法の可能性を探る.
その後これまでの観測的制限,あるいは将来観測からどのようにしてダークマターとしての原始ブラックホールの可能性を精査できるのかを具体的に提案していく.特に重力波観測を用いた観測的検証について重点的に研究を進め,原始ブラックホールがダークマターに占める割合についての観測的検証につなげる.
