Outline of Research at the Start

本研究課題では、階層ナビゲーション研究のための(1)数理・学習ベース解析手法と(2)介入方法決定技術について研究を行う。(1)では、ヒトやカニ、トンボなどの個体間相互作用における行動ダイアグラム解明のための数理(ルール)・学習ベースモデルを融合した解析手法を開発する。さらに新たな仮説や行動パタンを、行動データマイニングにより発見する。また(2)ではデータから因果推論を行い、実験コストのため限られたデータを用いて介入の効果を検証する。さらに報酬を所望の行動に設定した強化学習により、介入方策を自動的に決定する方法を開発する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

当該年度は、主に2つの方向性から研究を行った。(1)根拠に基づき操作可能な機械学習モデルの構築に関して研究した。(2)人間の運動の計測データから、その特徴を定量化したり機序を解明する研究を行った。(1)については、魚群シミュレーションやスポーツのようなマルチエージェントの複雑なシナリオでの反事実の経時的介入結果の推定手法を開発した(Fujii et al. 2024, IEEE TNNLS)。さらに実世界の生物学的マルチエージェントをモデル化する際の問題として、実世界と強化学習の仮想環境との間のドメインギャップを解決する手法を提案した(Fujii et al. 2024, ICAART)。深層学習を用いた、チームスポーツにおける選手集団の動きの軌跡を比較分析する方法を開発した(Zhang et al, 2023, IEEE Access)。(2)については、避難時における歩行者の小グループがどのように適応的な陣形をとるかを分析した研究(Feliciani et al., 2023, Transp. Res. A)や、非同期の歩行者がどのようにして堅牢な空間的自己組織化を達成するかを検証した研究(Tomaru et al. 2023, J. R. Soc. Interface)が出版された。

Reason

申請時の計画における課題2としての、時空間因果推論の導入(2-a)に関して、研究実績にあるように反事実の経時的介入結果の推定手法を開発したため、順調に進展している。行動マイニングによる新規行動発見(2-b)に関しても、深層学習を用いた集団の動きの軌跡を比較分析する方法を開発した。また、計画班と共同でコウモリの動きを模倣する機械学習モデリングを行い、工学系国際会議のworkshopにてBest Presentation Awardを受賞するなど、共同研究が進行中であり、他の生物種に関しても現在検証中である(複数の公募班とも共同研究を開始している)ため、全体的に順調に進展していると言える。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今後も引き続き、根拠に基づき操作可能なルール・学習融合モデルや強化学習手法の構築を継続して行う。完全にブラックボックスな学習ベースの行動モデル化ではなく、運動方程式やエージェントモデル(強化学習モデル)など解釈可能なダイナミクスを学習することで、その結果を解釈・理解する手法を構築する。その手法を複数の生物集団の移動軌跡に実装して性能を検証し、その成果は情報系の国際会議または国際誌に投稿する。
