| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Plant metabolites are useful for our daily life as food, medicines and raw materials for industry. In this study, we have investigated the mechanism and regulation for the biosynthesis of plant metabolites by means of functional genomics, molecular biology and biochemistry. We have identified some genes involved in the biosynthesis of anti-cancer camptothecin, quinolizidine alkaloids and sulfur-containing metabolites from plants.
