Outline of Final Research Achievements

NF-κB is a critical signal transduction pathway to regulate immune and inflammatory responses, which are induced by various stimuli such as bacterial and viral infections and irradiation. We identified a novel physiological regulatory mechanism that is mediated by linearly linked ubiquitin molecules. We showed that genetic deficiency of a component of linear ubiquitin-generating enzyme (LUBAC) induces severe chronic dermatitis. Furthermore, we revealed that LUBAC activity is related with B cell lymphomas.
