Outline of Research at the Start

性の消失が回避される仕組みとして性染色体の入れ替わりが生じるプロセスの一端とその進化的背景をカエル2種、ツチガエルとネッタイツメガエルを用いて明らかにする。カエル類は他の生物に比べて性染色体の入れ替わり(別の常染色体が性染色体になること)が頻繁に起こっている。ZW型とXY型をもち、それらの入れ替わりが進行しているツチガエル、性染色体の多型状態からXY型への移行期あるネッタイツメガエルを用い、それぞれの性染色体の配列を同定することで性染色体の入れ替わりのプロセスを解明する。
