Outline of Research at the Start

コケ植物は頻繁に両性 (雌雄同株)/単性 (雌雄異株)の切換えを繰り返してきた。本研究ではコケ植物において、①常染色体上の非性決定遺伝子が性決定遺伝子へと転じるゲノム構造変化の解明、②同属内の両性種-単性種間の全ゲノム比較、③両性種を用いた単性変異体のスクリーニングと機能解析により両性が単性に転じる仕組みを解明する。さらに、複数のコケ植物で実現した可変的な両性/単性の切換えを明らかにすることで、コケ植物との共通推定祖先ですでに実現していた両性花成立の起源と、被子植物における両性花成立過程との関連性を明らかにする。
