Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Phenomenology and model building approaches to particle physics rely on the language, low-energy effective local field theory. It means that the limited capability of this language also applies to the two approaches above. In the current research project under the public funding, we used string theory in two distinct ways to overcome the limitations. One is to use string compactification. By making the statistical study of flux vacua applicable to F-theory compactifications, we derived distribution functions of such observables as gauge groups and Yukawa couplings in low-energy action. The other is extension of theoretical framework for hadron high-energy scattering using AdS/CFT correspondence. We extended the framework so it can cover 2-body to 2-body processes that are not elastic, and derived qualitative properties of generalized parton distribution function by using string theory.
