Synchronized long-period stacking order (LPSO) structure in Mg alloys has attracted our attention because of their unique synchronized stacking/chemical ordered structure. In this study, we have developed several new synchronized LPSO structure alloys through conventional casting processes, rapid solidification processes, and high pressure synthesis methods. obtained results are as follows: (1) Order-disorder typed LPSO structures were discovered in Mg-Al-Gd alloy system. (2) New synchronized LPSO structures were observed in a rapidly solidified Mg-Co-Sm alloy, (3) New long-period stacking superlattice structure was discovered in a Mg-Zn-Yb alloy processed by high-pressure and high-temperature treatment.
