Outline of Research at the Start

本領域の目標の中心となるのは、クオリア(主観的な意識の経験の中身のこと。夕日の赤など)を、クオリア同士の関係性を通じて特徴づけ、「クオリア構造」を明らかにすることである。本計画班は、「クオリア構造の可視化」と「クオリア構造の間の関係性の明確化」に貢献する。

クオリアを直接定義することは難しいが、あるクオリアと他のクオリアとの類似性は容易に記述できる。類似度報告を大規模報告課題と組み合わせ、大規模に視覚クオリアとその周辺の関係性を調べ、視覚クオリアを特徴づけるという新しい意識研究手法を確立する。また、関係性をもとにクオリアを特徴づけるための数学的根拠を検証する。
