Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、冬眠哺乳類シリアンハムスターの個体・細胞で逆遺伝学的手法により遺伝子改変操作を行うことで、冬眠達成に必要な遺伝子・分子を明らかにする。まずこれまでに作出した冬眠発動に異常を示すハムスター遺伝子改変個体の詳細な生理学・生化学的検討を進めるとともに、冬眠達成に必要な低温耐性や体の変換に関わると予測される遺伝子の冬眠における機能を明らかにする。これら一連の研究により冬眠達成の分子機構に迫る。
