Outline of Research at the Start	一部の哺乳類は環境に応じて自身の体温と代謝を著しく下げる冬眠状態へと移行し、冬眠時には行動や脳機能は抑制される。しかし、ひとたび冬眠から回復すれば完全に生体機能は戻り、冬眠哺乳類は”冬眠前と同じ個体として”通常の生活へと戻る。このように極限まで機能が抑制された脳が分子・神経・回路レベルでどのように変化して低代謝状態に適応しているのか、さらに冬眠前と後でどのように時系列的な連続性が保たれるのか、という脳機能における拡張された恒常性の謎の解明に挑む。
