Outline of Research at the Start	地球上に普遍的に存在する光合成生物は、光環境の変動が激しいいずれの生息域においてもエネルギー変換効率を動的に変化させ、環境適応できるように光エネルギー変換装置（光化学系超複合体）の構造を高度に進化させた。本研究では、原子から膜までの広範囲にわたる「構造ダイナミクス」に着目し、高速分子間力顕微鏡(AFM)と計算科学により光化学系超複合体の光エネルギー変換効率の動的制御機構を解析し、ユビキタスな光合成を可能にする光環境適応原理を明らかにする。
