Outline of Research at the Start	自然科学は「目の前に現存する試料」しか解析できない。したがって、個体や組織レベルの分子・細胞プロファイルはスナップショット的な情報しか得られない。この問題を解決するために、細胞の内部あるいは環境状態を「DNAの記録テープ」にビデオカメラのように経時的に記録する技術、および細胞集団からタイムマシーンのように遡って将来特定の形質を示すと考えられるクローンを単離する「遡及的クローン単離」技術を開発する。
