Outline of Research at the Start

現在主流のデータ同化手法では、不連続や非線型を適切に扱うことができない上に、大気と海洋の時間スケールの差異や、海洋生態系が考慮されていないため、本研究領域が研究対象とする顕著現象の予測可能性や大気海洋の結合メカニズム研究の大きな妨げとなっている。この挑戦的な課題を解決するため、データ同化に関する研究を実施することにより、大気海洋生態系結合過程の再現性の飛躍的向上を図る。
