Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In order to understand the essence of the glass and jamming transitions, we investigated the non-equilibrium properties such as the mechanical response ( rheology) to the stress and the response to the nonuniform perturbation such as random-pinning, using the extensive numerical simulations and developments of new theories. Especially for the non-equilibrium properties, we extended the mean-field theory for the new type of the transition called the Gardner transition to the strained system to analyze their rheological properties and confirmed the theoretical prediction successfully by 3 dimensional numerical simulations. As for the random-pinning system, we proved the existence of the thermodynamic glass transition by extensive numerical simulation. On top of these findings, we have also analyzed theoretically the dynamical heterogeneities of the Bethe lattice models and the glass transition of a model systems to which the rotational degrees of freedom are pertained.
