「非専門家にも歴史資料情報をより理解しやすい」目録とそのデータベースシステムのあり方を検討する。歴史資料のデータベースは専門性が高く、適切なキーワードを用いなければ、発見が困難になるという状況があった。本計画研究では、非専門家が資料にアクセスしやすくなる目録の構築手法を検討し、実践的な活用を目指す。さらに，他の計画研究でもちいる基盤構築としても位置付けられるとともに、領域全体の基盤の機能も担う。そこで1.高度な情報発見を行うシステムの開発 2.わかりやすい情報提供モデルとなるUI（ユーザインタフェース）分析 3.歴史学の課題に即した目録モデルの構築を行う。
