| Outline of Research at the Start |
細胞は分裂の際に娘細胞に染色体を正確に分配し，遺伝情報を含むゲノムを維持するが，初期胚の染色体分配異常頻度は非常に高く，約50％の8細胞期胚がモザイク胚を形成していることを発見した。しかし、モザイク胚の産仔率は60～80％と高い値を示す。すなわち，初期胚が異常な細胞を淘汰する何らかのメカニズムが存在するという仮説を立てることができる。そこで，胚発生における異常な染色体を持った細胞の運命決定の解析を行う。
