Research Abstract |
The subsurface structere and the behavior of the grandwater were examined by means of the field-observations. The observatinal point was the slopes in obara Village, Aichi Prefecture. The behavior of the soil moisture in the topsoil of the hillslope is analyzed on the basis of the field observation using tensiometers and so on. The soil is usually dry at the ridge parts and wet at the hollows, which represent the topographic effect on the soil moisture, and the soil repeats the wetting and dryingcycle in the shallow horizon and remains wet in the deep horizon, which represent the effect of the soil depth on it. Weathering conditions on the mountain slopes in obara Village, Aichi Prefecture was classified into eight types according to the ground-surfase examination and the seismic prospecting of P-wave. More detailed survey of the landslide scars which belong to different weathering types was carried aut to estimate the underground structure of the slopes. It was revealed that the slip surface of the landslides dominantly occur in the weath ering zones classified as Aw-1 and Aw-2.
