Research Abstract |
The field investigations were made at Ranyu Island, KaoーShon Peninsula, and Mt. NanーFuーTaーShan in Taiwan in 1989. During the survey total 3200 specimens (fungi 1400, lichen 1800 specimens) were collected. The investigations were carried out mainly on taxonomic and chemical studies of collected fungi and lichens basing on them. Fungi : 2 new species of Hypocreopsis and Poprinus were found, and several new records of distribution were made. 18 species of Corticiaceae were found in Lanyu Island, of among which 8 species were also found in Japan and the others were species distributed in tropical regions. Lichens : Species of Parmelia (s. lat.), Cetrelia (s. lat.), Hypogymnia, Ramalina and Xanthoparmelia were mainly analyzed chemically and taxonomically. Two new genera Allocetraia and Rimeliella were established, which both include new species emdemic to the Himalayan and Yunnan regions. For Xanthoparmelia, 13 species were found new to Taiwan, 10 of which were common with the Japanese one. Species of Ramalina were analyzed from a chemotaxonomic view point, and there have been detected several chemical variatns which show rather close affinities with the species complex in Yunnan and Japan. The flora in the subalpine zone of Mt. NanーFuーTaーshan includes species common with species of Japan and Yunnan as well as species endemic to Taiwan. In addition 2 new species of Ramalina were found in NanーFuーTa-Shan. One species of Staurothele was found to be new to science.
