Research Abstract |
In India, HTLV-1 sero-positive people were found. There are TSP patients just same as HAM seen in Japan. In Columbia, South America, there are HTLV-1 sero-positive people in a indigenous tribe in Andes. Also TSP patients were found. In Papua New Guinea, HTLV-1 seropositivity were found in nothern coastal areas and islands but not in central mountain areas. From AIDS/ARC patient in Ghana, two isolates of HIV were obtained. One was identified as HIV-1 but the other did not hybridize with HIV-1 and HIV-2, suggesting that the second one is defferent from known isolates of HIV.
