Research Abstract |
Various problems concerning the production of high-intensity radioactive ion beams produced in nuclear reactions have been studied in collaboration with investigators in the ISOLDE facility at CERN, Switzerland and in the ISOL facility at TRIUMF, Canada. The main subjects studied are listed below: 1. Development of the ECR and surface-ionization type ion sources for an isotope separator on-line (ISOL), 2. Discovery of realistic solutions in the ion-optics of an ISOL having a high mass resolving power, 3. Problems in the robot control for a high-intensity ISOL.
