Research Abstract |
Four Japanese members made joint researches on electronics and optoelectronics. The researches have successfully been completed. Individuals also attended the related Conferences and presented their papers. Ichioka attended the Gordon Research Conference on holography and optical information processing and gave an invited talk on his research activities on optical computing systems. He visited Prof. Lee at UCSD and discussed architectures of future optical computes. Hotate researched on the coherent sensing technologies. He attended OFC'90 and got much significant knowledge on the sensing systems and the related device technologies. In Stanford University, he visited Profs. Shaw, Byer and Goodman to discuss the mutual interest on optical sensing and optical computing. In MIT, he visited Prof. Ezekiel and discussed optical passive ring-resonator gyro with him. Itoh stayed JPL and made joint research on the multi-spectral imaging with Dr. Breckinridge. He attended the 33rd International SPIE meeting and presented his paper. Shiraishi stayed AT&T Bell Labs. and made joint research on the technology of passive optical components. The research has successfully been completed. He obtained significant results.
