Research Abstract |
(1) A Work-shop on review of recent studies and planning of field observation program concerning the warm water pool in the western part of the equatorial Pacific and its variability was held in Tokyo 23-24 october 1989. (2) As the preliminary study. ATLAS bouys were installed at 5N, 2N and at the equator along 147 E-line. This is a cooperative work with U. S. and Australian scientists. (3) Numerical experiments concerning the mechanism of the ENSO phenomenon were performed.
