Research Abstract |
This research is to clarify the characteristics of three-dimensional flow in aerospace with use of experimental technology and analysis/numerical simulation and to solve several fundamental and practicable aerospace flow problems without analogy by one/two-dimensional approach. These are also contributable to research and development of future aircraft and spacecraft. The research group is composed of 23 researchers from universities and research institution throughout Japan. Researches were conducted in the following items : 1. Fundamental Researches on Three-Dimensional Flow (1) Vortex flow, Shear flow, Jet, Spiral flow, Wake, Boundary layer, Separated flow, etc. (2) High speed flow, High temperature flow, Rarefied flow 2. Characteristics of Three-Dimensional Flow (1) Flow around wing and aircraft (2) Flow around spacecraft 3. Development of Measuring methods in Three-Dimensional Flow 4. Development of Analysis/Numerical Simulation in Three-Dimensional Flow The results of the above researches over three years have been presented at the joint symposium held with other Grant-in-Aid Bodies for Co-operative Research Projects (February 3-4, 1992, Kinugawa, Tochigi) as well as regular communications between related research institutions. Reviews and evaluations in the symposium have revealed significant progress in three-dimensional flow research.
